Mommy, I don't feel well.
For the first time that I can remember, SM is not feeling well. I first noticed something was up when I picked him up from my mom's after work today. I asked him if he wanted to go to McDonald's for dinner. He said no... (What??) That is correct, he said no. Someone call the police, this is not my child. He may look like him, but I assure you, my child would never turn down McDonald's.When we got home he immediately laid down on the couch and ask for a blanket. I got out the thermometer and he did have a bit of a temperature, but only a small one. I gave him a Popsicle (always makes me feel better when I am sick) and went in to make dinner. I checked on him several times and by the third time, he was asleep. Finally, around 8 p.m. I woke him up. I was afraid that he would sleep for too long and that he would not want to go to bed when bedtime rolled around. When I tried to wake him and get him active he just asked he if could go to bed. This was another red flag - What child asks to go to bed? Poor fella. After I put him to bed I gave my mom a call to see if she could think of what might be the culprit. After a few minutes we determined that it had to be fatigue. It turns out, that in addition to waking up extra early today - 5:30 a.m. - SM had gym class and he did not take his after school nap. When you start to add it up, it adds up.I guess we'll find out in the morning. Hopefully he was just worn out and he's not coming down with something. I don't know about you, but I just can't handle it when children are sick. It breaks my heart.

Why don't you raise your kids your way and leave the rest of us alone. Judgmental is such a wonderful trait to pass on to your children. That does far more long term damage than mcnuggets ever will.

Mcnuggets are sick battery chickens and you are happy to feed this to your little boy on a regular basis.
I would not feed this to my dog !
I am happy to teach my kids compassion, and if I did not care I would not have written to you in the first place.
Get off you high horse, admit theres room for improvement and love him enough to feed him in a way thats beneficial to him.

Amy
I assumed that it was Shannon writing to me, it was only when I checked that I saw you where in fact amy, with a little girl and connected to a Christian sight.
Why don't you do a refresher course on deuteronomy and the restrictions placed on the Isralites conserning food and you guessed it God did it because he cared for their health.People who did not listen where thrown out.....with no compassion and millions of people still like yourself try to base their lives on upholding these principles, unless your Holy Bible is differnt to mine.
Daniel was told to eat only certain foods as was Samson.
Somehow just can't see Jesus taking his followers to macdonalds !

I'll have to check with my priest about the biblical references to McDonald's and get back to you. But I think there was definite reference to leaving the judgment to the Lord. Are you the Lord?

You're nastiness is a strike against those who walk in faith.

Peace be with you.

My nastiness is against those who are stupid enough to feed their kids macdonalds and sweets and wonder why they don't feel well.
I don't need to check in with a priest as I know the christian doctrine better than most of them do and in referance to judgement I think the bible was referring to the state of your soul and I was being judgmental on FOOD, slight difference.
.
I am sure you are a good born again christian Mommy who is going to heaven as is Shannon.
Wonder though if the Lord will ask all the people who eat macnuggets why they supported cruelty to chickens .
Stuff compassion to chickens or lambs or cows.

And I never made any biblical referances to macdonalds all I said was " I just can't see Jesus stuffing his face with a doublebuger, coke and chips "
If my body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, I choose not to put dead animals in it and I choose to stand up for the rights of children who have stupid parents.
I'm off now camping with my kids and hubby for the weekend all of whom feel sorry for kids who are feed macdonalds.

dear madam ,your seemingly random disparaging potshot at a mother you do not know seems at best impulsive and petty. Perhaps in your own self righteous way you were trying to be helpful,or perhaps you're just mean(as I don't know you I will leave those assumptions to those who do.) I will tell you that I do know this mother, very well.her children are well fed on healthy foods, active smart and very happy.they both were reading before they were three years old, choose fruits and crunchy veggies over sweets and are never babysat by the television. their parents work hard to instill kindness patience and politeness among other virtues ,in their children and also work quite diligently in the community .they work with organizations to help abused women and homeless children, champion the rights of all individuals to a decent life of dignity and shelter.they take special pains to set aside time with each of their children as together time, doing things to broaden their minds and spirits.if you had stopped to ask first you would have maybe found you had jumped too soon to your conclusion and had a chance to make a friend.you would be better served to remember the old adage"it is better to remain silent and thought a fool than speak and prove it"

Dear MKdieb
I'm not sure now who you are referring to, Shannon or Amy. Thank you for your note I am sure, your friend will appreciate your standing up for her.

Ever heard of the movie Supersize me ?
Shannon was clear in her blog entry that going to Macdonalds was something her son does regularly. If his food choices where as healthy as you say they are ( if we are talking about the same person ?) then he would not enjoy macdonalds.
IF we are talking about Amy , I never asked any questions about how she feeds her daughter or the way she lives her life.

I think you do protest tooo much, why so defensive ?
And I really don't feel like having conversations about the state of each writer on my blog. I am sure both Amy and Shannon are nice people.
All I said was HOW CAN YOU FEED YOU KID MACDONALDS ON A REGULAR BASIS AND THAT IT IS NORMAL TO WAKE EARLY AND BE IN BED AT 8PM FOR KIDS THIS AGE.

so if some one else wants to write and ask me questions about mkdieb's life, ummmm, I 'm not even going to look at her blog so I have no idea.

And if Shannon would like to write to me to tell me , why she takes her little boy to macdonalds on a regular basis, I would like to know !

The Christian Community is often weakened by those that profess to be its greatest attributes, for as they profess and lecture, their judgment and rhetoric do nothing but cast division, self-righteousness and ignorance.

My priest says hello and advises that maybe you should have a drink.

What kind of priest tells people to start drinking alcohol ?

And I never professed to being Christianities greatest attribute.Examples of your random statement would be helpful.Just one.
